FAQ
Garba pass questions, answered
Short answers about free garba passes, fair draws, Pass Wanted, the Cheap Pass zone and staying safe on PASSA.
How do I get a free garba pass in Ahmedabad?
Open PASSA’s Ahmedabad page or pick Ahmedabad on the free board, choose your night and ask for a pass. Most free passes go by fair draw; on the rest, the owner picks. Once a pass is yours, you both see each other’s contact and meet to hand it over. Nothing for your night? Post on Pass Wanted and get an alert when a pass goes up.
Is PASSA free?
Yes. PASSA is free to use, with no fees, no ads and no commission. Passes on the free board are given free, for a non-money barter, or open to offers, never for money. PASSA never sells passes, never handles payments and never takes a cut, not even in the Cheap Pass zone, where buyers pay the seller directly at the handover.
How do fair draws work on PASSA?
Instead of first come, first served, everyone who asks for a pass before its draw time is entered, and PASSA picks the winners at random. Draws run by 6:30 PM on the night. People who haven’t had a pass yet this season get double the chance, so there’s no need to keep refreshing. Winners are matched automatically, and everyone else is told straight away.
Is PASSA safe?
PASSA is built to be safe by default. Your number is never public: it’s shared only with the person you match with. Free listings that mention money or UPI are blocked, pass and QR codes are filtered out of public text, and three reports hide a listing while a person reviews it. Still, check the venue’s transfer rules, never pay in advance, and hand over in public.
How do I give away a spare garba pass?
Tap Give a pass, choose the night, city and how many, and add a photo of the pass that only the PASSA team sees. It takes about 30 seconds. List it free, for a non-money barter, or open to offers. People ask privately, a fair draw or you decide who gets it, and your number stays hidden until you accept someone.
What is Pass Wanted?
Pass Wanted is a board where you ask for a pass instead of searching. Say which night, which city and how many you need. People with a spare send you a private offer and you choose one; contacts are shared only when you accept. It’s money-free, so nobody may offer or ask for payment. You also get an alert when a free pass goes up for your night and city.
What is the Cheap Pass zone?
The Cheap Pass zone is a separate section for people who want a little money back for a pass they can’t use. Every price must be at or below the pass’s online price, which is shown next to it so you can compare. You pay the seller directly, only at the handover, never in advance. PASSA never handles the payment and never takes a cut.
What should I do if someone asks for money for a free pass?
Don’t pay, and report them. The free board and Pass Wanted are strictly money-free, so anyone asking for a deposit, a booking fee, a transfer fee or a UPI payment “to hold” a pass is breaking the rules and is very likely a scammer. Use Report on the pass, the Report page or email admin@vaivik.in. PASSA never asks for your PIN or an OTP.
Does PASSA work outside Gujarat?
PASSA is made for Navratri in Gujarat, with pages for Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Rajkot, Gandhinagar, Anand, Bhavnagar and Jamnagar. A pass for anywhere else can be listed under Other, and the same rules apply: free passes stay free, and cheap passes stay at or below the online price. The nights on PASSA follow Gujarat’s Navratri calendar.
How do I report a problem on PASSA?
Tap Report on any pass, use the Report page, or email admin@vaivik.in. Every report gets a case number and is read by a real person, and the PASSA team’s replies arrive in your alerts and on the Help page. A listing with three separate reports is hidden automatically while it’s reviewed. Report anyone who asks for money for a free pass.
